Autumn: why it’s the best season for fashion

Autumn is a time for welly walks over frost covered paths taking hundreds and thousands of pictures of crisp leaves in an array of oranges and auburns.  Then later, returning to the crackling fire and the pumpkin-spiced latte you just poured for yourself.  That is what the months of Autumn is about.  But fashion is not to be forgotten within this idealistic image.  Fashion thrives best in autumn; warm jackets, boots and wooly hats.  So I used this to my advantage to curate a list of the essential components to every Fall wardrobe…

Number 1:

A good coat:

Now I’m not just talking ‘keep the wind out’ kinda coat but also looks amazing with any outfits and adds that Autumn flare kinda coat.  I strongly recommend a trench coat, aviator jacket or everyday puffer jacket.  Here is an example, but believe me the internet is bursting at the seams with great additions that will insist you add them to your closet.

This moss green coloured trench coat is very versatile and easy to wear.  I really like the fact that it is a different colour to any of the trench coats I have seen before and love the tortoise shell buttons.  It is from H&M and is £49.99.

Number 2:

A jumper:

I personally love Autumn mainly for the change in weather which allows me to swap out my t-shirts and dresses and pile in my cable knits and roll-necks.  Being warm is important in Autumn and no better excuse to stay cosy then an inviting jumper to snuggle up in.  You will often find me in a tight-fitting rollneck as I find them a staple in any wardrobe, never failing to complete a look perfectly.

This beauty is from Next and looks extremely snug and comfy I like the funnel neck and ribbed detailing. The chequered print gives it an almost geometric style.  It is £32.

Number 3:

A ‘pleather’ or chequered skirt:

I think a skirt can enhance an otherwise boring outfit or add sophistication to a look.  My favourite style of skirt is chequered I think there is something so typically British about tartan and Prince of Wales check.  So, therefore, I found one which is perfect if I do say so myself…

Number 4 : An amazing pair of boots

To finish this look of perfectly a steady pair of boots is a necessity for Autumn (very nearly winter).  Something that is very versetile but adds flair to an outfit.  I think it is a great idea to find a pair with some texture and pattern.  Snake skin is always a win in autumn and I just can’t get enough of  it.

I appreciate autumn may be coming to halt and some would say its winter however I thought I would give some last minute inspiration for the remaining season…  Because why not?
